NEW ZEALAND DANCE INDUSTRY STRATEGY
The New Zealand Dance Industry Strategy was launched at Parliament on 9 September 2008.
This strategy has been written by DANZ in consultation with a wide range of people working in dance and was funded by Creative New Zealand.
The New Zealand Dance Industry Strategy is the guiding and overarching document for dance industry development.
The five points – connections, spaces, viability, visibility and skill – summarize the work ahead. Each will require focus and long term development.
Wider partnerships, national, regional, public and private, need to be forged in order that some major projects can be developed. Links, support and thinking within and outside the dance industry need to change significantly from the current limited environment.
Action Plan and Blueprint
DANZ is also developing a detailed Action Plan and Blueprint to deliver on these strategies. It identifies potential partners, work to be accomplished and short, medium and long term priorities.
In recognition of the dance community's strong desire to be consulted throughout the strategic development process we are also inviting contributions on the Draft Action Plan and Blueprint. Please send comment and feedback on this document to DANZ.
The Action Plan will be a living document, updated as the dance industry, DANZ and partners evaluate progress.
