LEMI PONIFASIO RECEIVES LAUREATE AWARD1st December 2011
The Arts Foundation has launched New Zealand's first national arts awards and choreographer/director Lemi Ponifasio was one of the ten artists presented with an award.
"Lemi Ponifasio, theatre artist, and founder and director of MAU. Produced internationally, Ponifasio’s epic productions provoke controversy and attention. His work has been called genius, powerful, frightening, beautiful and inspirational." The Arts Foundation
His latest work Birds with Skymirrors is in the NZ International Arts Festival in February next year.
