ANITA HUTCHINS was born in Wellington in 1982.
She started dance at the age of 4 years old and by the age of 16 had moved over to London to study at The Royal Ballet School where she stayed for two years. In 2000 she was offered a contract with The Bayerisches Staattsballett in Munich where she stayed for 3 years after which she moved to Den Haag and danced with The Netherlands Dans Theater 2 for a season.
In 2004 she returned home to Wellington and took the opportunity to take some quiet time to develop herself as an artist, finding her own style of movement away from demanding lifestyle of being in a dance company. She has continued to dance and teach randomly since she has returned home. In 2005 she joined the 'Commotion Tour' of Michael Parmenter , she taught for the Alana Haines awards 2005 and most recently she joined The Royal New Zealand Ballet for their 'Trinity Tour'.
For the second half of 2005 she attened Avalon Film and Television School which by a fateful turn of events led her to being a contestant on the TV3 show 'So You Think You Can Dance'. A show which she won.
Anita will soon embark on her second big overseas adventure, first port of call LA claiming the prize she won on the TV show.
