TUTORS FOR 2010 include:
Jack Gray is a choreographer and dancer (Atamira Dance Collective / Jack Gray Dance)
and has taught for IndependANCE previously and also teaches in schools and at Unitec.
Kristian Larsen is an independent dance and performing artist and works with structured
improvisation and its varying techniques for performance. Kristian is in the process of
completing his Masters, which is in the study of Improvisational performance
Kimbrian Bergh - Ballet fitness
Kim is a Senior tutor at Unitec and he has also been the Principal dancer for the South African Ballet Company. Kim's classes are an easy and fun strengthening class, with the focus of the connection of the feet into the floor, hip flexibility and alignment, and using the 'Centre' work for maintaining dance fitness. Come along and keep up your training! It's a great class.
Megan Adams - Megan has worked with Ann Dewey, Sean Curham, Douglas Wright Dance Co, Commotion Co, Shona McCullagh, and many others! Is wellknown as choreographer also. Megan is
the rehearsal director for the Douglas Wright dance company, and currently teaches
contemporary at Tapac in the evening classes.
Kelly Nash -
Kelly is a contemporary dancer and has worked with Atamira dance company, Douglas
Wright dance company, Shona McCullogh, Fidget dance ompany Claire O’Neil and
Curve dance collective to name a few. This is a contemporary dance class, influenced by Contact Care, a common sense approach to
moving. Working with the relationship to gravity, embracing habitual movement,
activating the body’s natural reflexes, moving into ease and comfort and supporting the
body’s efficiency through space. Classes are contemporary with a somatic approach.
