FUNDING FOR INDIVIDUALS
New Zealand Residencies
- The Caroline Plummer Fellowship in Community Dance - New Zealand or
International community dance pracitioners, teachers and
researchers can apply for a six month fellowship at The University of Otago,
Dunedin.
- Culture programme Asia:NZ - supports New Zealand-based organisations and individuals running projects that will educate New Zealanders about Asian arts and culture.
New Zealand Scholarships and Awards
- Creative New Zealand Special Opportunities for Artists - including the Creative New Zealand Choreographic Fellowship for senior choreographers ($65,000), Tup Lang Choreographic Award for choreography in contemporary dance and Te Waka Toi Awards that recognise leadership, outstanding contribution and excellence in Māori arts.
- Eileen May Norris Dance Scholarships Trust- Awarded to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding dance talent in New Zealand with an appropriate university, polytechnic, dance school or academy, or for those dancing with a professional body or company (up to $20,000).
- The Warren Douglas Scholarship Fund - For individuals interested in advancement in arts management with particular emphasis on people making the transition from performance to arts administration.
- Dorothy Daniels Dance Foundation - Awards to
dance students, professional dancers, dance teachers and
choreographers to progress their professional development.
- The Alana Haines Australasian Awards - An international
jury awards cash and scholarships to young dancers, 11

- Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship - Full fee scholarship to attend the University of Waikato, Hamilton and personal development programme. Awarded to students who excel academically and in sport or creative and performing arts, who have the capability to lead, and who are either current tertiary students or school leavers.
- Dame Malvina Major Foundation - Provide educational and training opportunities for young New Zealanders in the performing arts and supports individuals of outstanding ability to prepare for professional careers.
- Emerging Artists Trust - Mentors and funds emerging film and performance artists in the Wellington region.

Support for New Zealand artists in any discipline to explore Antarctica through their work
- AMP Scholarship Programme - Each year the company awards 12 AMP Scholarships valued up to $10,000 plus a further fund of $80,000 to be shared amongst those winners selected.
Previous recipients range from glass artists and scientists to ballet dancers and actors.
- Christchurch Dance Education Bursary Trust - Provides annual bursaries to Canterbury Dance students accepted and enrolled in International or National accredited professional dance training programmes and masterclasses for advanced students with International tutors.

The TEC is responsible for the allocation of all post compulsory education funding.
International Scholarships for New Zealanders
- UNESCO-Aschberg Bursaries for Artists - 62 arts
fellowships with 50 partner institutions in 30 countries.
The programme aims to open up new career prospects for
artists and provide them with the opportunity for further
training in specialised institutions.
- Fulbright New Zealand - A range of awards for New Zealand graduate students to undertake study, research or travel at institutions in the United States.
- Winston Churchill Memorial Trust -
Assists New Zealanders to travel overseas and bring back with them new insights and understanding that will enrich their community and, ultimately, New Zealand as a whole.
- New Zealand Japan Exchange Programme - The New Zealand Japan Exchange Programme aims is to promote a deeper understanding between New Zealand and Japan through a programme of educational and cultural exchanges.
- Wellington Asia Residency Exchange - For a Wellington artist to
participate in an arts exchange programme in Asia..
- Commonwealth Connections- the Commonwealth Foundation’s international arts residencies scheme funds residencies which foster a process of learning by exchange between artists working in different Commonwealth countries. The exchanges promote creativity and individual cultural expression, increase mutual understanding between artists and give opportunities to learn new skills that can help individuals develop their livelihoods as artists. Originally open to visual artists, the scheme is now broadening to include a wider range of art forms. Each year a specific theme is declared. Go to website for full details and application form
- Residency Fellowships, Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart, Germany. For persons up to 35 or if older who have completed a university or college degree within the past five years.
