DANZ QUARTERLY

Issue No 3: April 2006

Editorial

Welcome to the first issue of DANZ Quarterly for 2006.

As a dance community, we have much to celebrate. Leaping out of this magazine is a rich and vibrant art form. From ballet to TV dance competitions, Bollywood to Pasifika festivals, community dance to contemporary dance forums – the energy is remarkable.

Aotearoa New Zealand has many unique gifts, the most powerful of which is our ability to express our many voices, our sense of place, with the recognition that culture and cultural difference is to be honoured – and enjoyed. Dance is the ideal medium to express this powerful idea and the articles that follow testify to this.
